Friday favorites: New Parents

Hey guys, I was going to do a blog post about all my favorite mommy & children’s products but realized there’s wayyy too many!! So I’m going to split em up and on Fridays tell you guys about some of them! My best friend is expecting so for this week I was inspired to cover some of my favorite products for new parents. Some of these favorites have been favorites since having Arabella and some are newer products that I’ve tested out with LJ and loved! Here are my top 10:

The Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor $300: Voted Best Baby Monitor of 2018, the Owlet Smart Sock monitors baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels. The price is a little high but SO worth it if you’re a paranoid parent like me. This cute little sock comes in green, blue, or pink and comes with a few different sizes so it grows with your baby. It is easy to set up and to put on. Falling asleep at night is worry-free. This is by far my favorite purchase for LJ. I can’t tell you guys how much I love it. Buy it here on Amazon.

MAM Orthodontic Pacifiers $3.99: You guys have to believe me when I tell you I have tried every pacifier on the market. With LJ I started out with the Natursutten pacifiers because I love that they are nontoxic and made of all rubber. Sadly for me, he wasn’t interested. With Arabella, she only wanted one type of pacifier-and that was MAM. Sure enough, it is also the only brand that LJ will use and the only pacifier that helps keep him calm. Babies love MAM and they are ideal for baby’s jaw and teeth development! Order a 2-pack here from Amazon.

Lalabu Baby Carrier Soothe Shirt $75: Every mom needs one of these shirts! I lived in these after having LJ. There is no better carrier for when your baby is a newborn. So much more convenient than a wrap and so much comfier than an actual carrier, these shirts are amazing. Keep in mind, it is supposed to fit fairly snug so baby is secure inside. Purchase yours from Amazon here or order at

Milk Snob Nursing Cover $32.99: These multipurpose covers are so essential for breastfeeding moms and for moms that aren’t. These covers are fitted for car seats, shopping carts, and high chairs. Their prints are so stylish and they are soo soft. They are by far the easiest nursing covers  I have ever used. Find yours now at Target and at

Graco Duet Soothe Swing and Rocker $117: With Arabella, the Mama Roo was our go-to. It worked great but only for about three months. My kids are big so at three months, she was sitting straight  up and found no interest in the Roo. LJ wasn’t a big fan of it from the beginning, so with him we tried this swing. If he was too fussy, I would lay him in the swing and he went right to sleep. We used it for about five months and it’s half the price of the Roo too! I found it cheapest at Google Express.

HALO® Bassinest Swivel Sleeper $160+: With Arabella, I had a pretty standard bassinet and it sucked waking up so many times throughout the night, getting out of bed and lifting her out when I was so tired. When I saw this swiveling bassinet with a collapsable side, I wish I had one with her and so I got one with LJ. You can tend to baby while still laying in your own bed! Here is the most basic HALO bassinet. Shop this one and the others at Bed Bath & Beyond.

NoseFrida® Nasal Aspirator $15.99: I know this Snotsucker seems a little gross at first, but I promise it really isn’t. I was skeptical at first too but you guys, this is the best nasal aspirator for babies. When the babies are so young and full of snot, this is a life saver. The tube goes against their nostril instead of inside it and we use the suction of our mouths to get the snot out. Sounds scary BUT Don’t worry– Disposable filters have been clinically proven to prevent any bacterial transfer. They are so much more efficient than the bulb suckers. You can get it anywhere, click here to purchase yours from Target.

4moms® Breeze GO Pack & Play $200: If you have ever had to break down a standard playpen and set it back up, you know it can be a serious pain. This pack & play is a little more expensive than your typical one but the convenience is so worth it. This playpen closes and opens both with only one step. Push the central hub down to open and pull it back up to close it. There is NOTHING tricky about it. We got ours from Buy Buy Baby.

Big Brother or Sister Book $11.99: For those of you who already have kiddos, a big brother or sister book is an awesome way to celebrate their “promotion”. It is also a super cute way to announce to friends and family! This specific book was written by my good friend Michelle and its so cute! She’s a mama to two young babes and I think its awesome we can support each other! Available for big brothers on Amazon. (A sister version is being released shortly).
